About Us
Coastside Country is a collaboration between Hilary Stamper and Carol Hunter to bring country line dancing to the Half Moon Bay Coastside. We met in the Half Moon Bay Green Mothers Club in 2008 and discovered a shared love of so many things – from adventures in nature to Lindy Hop dancing! But unlike redwood hikes and beach walks which we found aplenty in our small town, it was much harder to find opportunities to dance.
When we discovered country line dancing, we agreed that it combines so many elements that make Half Moon Bay so special: close-knit community, appreciation for physical activity and a celebration of our town’s farming roots. We particularly appreciate how line dancing liberates people who might otherwise feel shy to dance in public, and brings us together across philosophical ideologies in a shared love of music, movement and fun!
